Solid Bronze Smash Hits is an Ersatz Award™-winning greatest hits compilation album that has not been available anywhere before now. Piling together such obscure gems as Yeetloaf’s “We’re Not Gonna Make This Light” and Cap’n Hot Thang’s “No Man Is an Island (but Some Can Be Atolls)”, Nilboard Records offers a thoroughly dispensable slice of rock history. Every last one of the 26 tracks in this collection was a huge hit in some esoteric sense of the word, in some of the largest recondite market segments.
Look, we’ll level with ya. This is a double album of parody songs, and it’s not everyone’s thing. A little metal, a little opera, some country, some futuristic emo crap, a pharmaceutical ad theme, a scoche of lowbrow humor, a little dance music… all by artists so hip you’ve never heard of them. If you were ever into Mad Magazine, National Lampoon, The Onion, The Post News Times, Saturday Night Live, Monty Python, or Freedom Rock, this might be your thing.
